Elegance was needed to tell this story. Rich but understated, anticipatory as top tier service needs to be.
To communicate this we looked to use an unhurried pace, triumphal but quiet - embodying the qualites that Oman Air wanted to portray. A traditional mix of strings, horns and woodwinds are mixed with choirs, traditional chanting, crotales and eastern drums. Mixing two cultures is always an interesting exercise in uncovering the layers that bind us together.
The beginning of the film is open and vast - best to let the sound of the environment breathe, it's about the landscape after all. So here it's mainly foley. Transparent. Serene but epic.
Then the music starts to build, but hopefully it never overtakes the narrative because the pacing of the film is never hurried.
