SSnow in Paradise has been mentioned by Esquire, Variety, Empire, the BBC and the Evening Standard in the runup to its World Premiere on the 21st May at the 67th Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard category.
Directed by Andrew Hulme and based on a true story, it tells the story of Dave, played by Frederick Schmidt, a petty criminal who thrives on drugs and violence in London’s East End. When his actions kill his best friend Tariq (played by Aymen Hamdouchi), he’s propelled into unknown feelings of shame and remorse. He discovers Islam and begins to find peace until his old life of crime comes back to test his new belief.
